Kermit Ruffins

Jon Pareles of the New York Times wrote "Mr. Ruffins is an unabashed entertainer who plays trumpet with a bright, silvery tone and sings with off-the-cuff charm."

Proud of his humble roots and contributions to New Orleans music, band leader and trumperter Kermit Ruffins claims Louis Armstrong as an early role model. Like Armstrong, Kermit Ruffins is destined for a prolific, lifelong career in music. His popularity in New Orleans continues to increase as Ruffins pleases crowds with both Jazz standards and many of his own compositions. He currently headlines every Thursday night with the Barbeque Swingers at local watering hole, Vaughn's in the Bywater neighborhood.
